Darryl Abernathy reminisced a simple but delicious meal, prepared for him and siblings. Brenda Hollins, Darryl’s mother prepared hot corned beef and cabbage, as a special birthday meal for him annually, March 16, (the day before St. Patrick’s Day). Gloria Abernathy grew up around the kitchen of her mother Ruth Gill. Chasing the flavor of Darryl’s childhood food memories, Darryl (in their home kitchen) tested and developed his own flavor of corned beef. In 1996 the brand of D.A.’s Gourmet Meat was developed.
